DERma Akne

Derma Akne is an advanced, multi-modality medical device specifically designed to treat moderate to heavy acne. It is a composite system that seamlessly integrates three powerful technologies into a single treatment protocol: Soft Vacuum IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), Needle RF (Radiofrequency), and Bipolar Melting RF. Together, these technologies alleviate active acne infections, reduce sebum production, and enhance skin regeneration. 

Unlike topical creams that only treat the surface of the skin, Derma Akne addresses the biological root causes of acne using a three-step approach:

1. Bipolar Melting RF: High-frequency heat is used to gently melt and easily discharge trapped sebum (oil) and debris from congested pores.
   
2. Needle RF (Sebaceous Gland Destruction): Insulated micro-needles deliver precise radiofrequency energy deep into the dermis to selectively destroy overactive sebaceous (oil) glands. By reducing the medium where acne bacteria thrive, it dramatically prevents acne relapse.
   
3. Soft Vacuum IPL: The device applies a gentle vacuum while delivering targeted blue light (IPL). This light reacts with the porphyrins created by acne germs, producing active oxygen that destroys the bacteria's cell walls, effectively killing the acne-causing bacteria directly.

Derma Akne is highly recommended for adults suffering from:

• Moderate to severe active acne.
  
• Chronic, recurring breakouts that do not respond to topical treatments or oral medications.
• Extremely oily or congested skin.
• Acne caused by overactive sebaceous glands.

Because Derma Akne utilizes needles and heat, you will feel a warm, prickling sensation during the RF micro-needling portion, followed by bright flashes of light during the IPL phase. To ensure your comfort, a medical-grade topical anesthetic (numbing cream) is applied to the treatment area before we begin. 

Derma Akne offers the benefit of highly effective acne treatment with minimal downtime.Immediately following the procedure, your skin will be red and may feel slightly sensitive, similar to a mild sunburn. You may also experience minor swelling or pinpoint crusting from the insulated needles. These side effects are temporary and typically subside within a few days. You can safely return to your daily activities immediately, but we advise avoiding strenuous exercise, sweating, and makeup for the first 24 to 48 hours. 

While many patients notice a reduction in oil production and inflammation after just one session, a series of treatments is required to adequately treat all the overactive sebaceous glands and achieve long-lasting clearance.
